We are so pleased to announce that two more projects in the Inyo-Mono IRWM region have been completed.
**PICTURES COMING SOON!**
The Tecopa water kiosk was completed in July and soon thereafter began dispensing high-quality drinking water. This project started with a feasibility grant through the Prop. 84 IRWM Implementation funding opportunity. Two successive grants from the State Water Resources Control Board provided interim drinking water to the residents of Tecopa and supported the construction of the water kiosk in Tecopa.
Also through a Prop. 84 IRWM Implementation grant, the June Lake Public Utilities District installed an ion exchange system adjacent to its current water treatment plant in order to remove the increased concentration of uranium that occurred due to drought conditions.
Several other projects are currently underway, and we look forward to sharing their completion stories as they occur.
If you have any questions about these projects, don’t hesitate to contact Holly Alpert, IRWM Program Director, at holly@inyo-monowater.org.
