The Owens Valley Indian Water Commission, in partnership with the Water Education Foundation, is hosting a free Project WET Facilitators water education training in Bishop on November 8-10, 2011. This training would be beneficial for anyone who wants to educate youth or communities about water issues, and will give participants the skills to train educators and others to use the Project WET Curriculum & Activity Guide 2 for water education. The WET in Project WET stands for Water Education for Teachers; however, the activities and lesson plans in the Project WET Curriculum & Activity Guide can be used to reach out to youth and community members to teach them about water issues. Each participant will be given a Project WET Curriculum & Activities Guide 2 to take with them which contains over eighty activities and lesson plans for education about water. Each participant will be provided with a continental breakfast and lunch each day. And successful participants will come away from this training with the skills to serve as a Project WET Facilitator able to train other educators to use the Project WET curriculum.
Registration is REQUIRED by NOVEMBER 1 to attend this training event. Please view the attached flyer for detailed information.
