Drought Preparedness (Session 1, Registration: 8:00 – 8:15am, Class: 8:15 – 11:15am):

  • The course will review different types of drought and their impacts, and provide a summary of statewide and regional water conditions. It will also cover:
  • Emergency plans required for SDWA compliance, technical, managerial, and financial capacity, and the drought planning process.
  • Challenges faced by small water systems and tribes, and the resources and solutions available to address them.
  • Different types of water conservation planning with information based on your water system needs and capabilities.
  • Tools and public education materials available to systems implementing a conservation plan.

Emergency Response (Session 2, Registration: 12:00 – 12:15pm, Class: 12:15 – 3:15pm):

  • Did you know that most public water systems are required to develop an Emergency Response Plan?
  • This course will cover the procedures and documents required by the state and funding agencies utilized in emergency response.
  • You will receive instruction on how to educate the public about emergency response as it relates to the water system.

These FREE workshops are beneficial for Water Operators and Managers of Private, Public, and Tribal Systems.

 Certified Water Operators can receive: 3 CDPH Water Contact Hours per session
